WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

Here at Elevate you will be thoroughly assessed and examined to diagnose your issue. We do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach so like to employ the use of many different treatment modalities which will be individually tailored to suit your specific needs. Some treatments we may use to help you may include massage, myofascial release, joint mobilisations, exercise therapy and more. For more details please see our services tab.

HOW MUCH TREATMENT WILL I NEED?

This largely depends on the injury or condition, how long you have had it and how severe it is. Typically, a full course of treatment usually takes around 6-8 sessions. Here at elevate we place a large emphasis on advice and education so you can learn how to manage your condition yourself.

HOW CAN I MINIMISE COSTS AND MAXIMISE EFFECTIVENESS OF TREATMENTS?

There are a few simple ways you can maximise the effectiveness of treatment and therefore, reduce the number and subsequently, costs of your sessions.
First, get seen by a therapist as soon as possible. The longer you leave it the worse it tends to get and harder it becomes to treat.
Secondly, do the exercises we set you, they really do help.
Third, ask plenty of questions and take on board any advice we give.
And finally be consistent with your sessions and treatment plan. Its how the body responds best!

WHAT IS SPORTS THERAPY AND WILL IT WORK FOR ME?

Most people see the word sports in the title and assume if they do not play sport then sports therapy is not applicable for them. This is not the case. Sports Therapy is designed to take you above and beyond where you were before your occurrence of injury. The demands of everyday life, working, cooking cleaning etc, are different to the demands required when exercising. Running on a treadmill or performing a squat for example. As a sports therapist our main aim is to improve the body so not only are we pain and injury free and can cope with the demands of everyday life, but we have improved the body so it can now cope with the extra demands of activity. We are stronger, have more mobility and performance is enhanced. Sports therapy is for everyone.
